The First Stand Tournament is the first international event of the year, bringing together the champions from the five major regions (LTA, LCK, LCP, LPLL, LEC) from March 10 to 16. The tournament features a Round Robin stage with best-of-three matches, followed by a Knockout Stage with best-of-five matches, where the top four teams compete in a single-elimination bracket to crown the champion. The competition will take place in the heart of League of Legends’ highest level of play, at LoL Park in Seoul, South Korea. This Monday, Riot Games has shared some details about the new features that will accompany this event.

New HUD to modernize the viewing experience

The 2025 First Stand Tournament introduces a brand-new Heads-Up Display (HUD)aimed at "enhancing the viewing experience for both loyal fans and newcomers." This updated HUD is designed to modernize the game's presentation, improving clarity and accessibility across various platforms. The new interface offers better engagement for viewers by simplifying key information and providing a more intuitive understanding of the match dynamics.

The HUD adapts to what happens on the Rift, and supposedly immerse fans in the flow of the game. The goal is to create a deeper connection with the match while providing a more user-friendly experience for all. Feedback from the community will be highly appreciated, as this new feature gives a much-needed kick to an interface that has hardly changed in ten years.

Co-streaming and Global Power Rankings are back

Co-streaming returns for the 2025 First Stand Tournament. This will allow fans of specific content creators to follow the event through their streams. Just like MSI and Worlds, Riot Games is opening up co-streaming for this new international event, with 75 creators expected to cover every match. It has been stated that co-streaming will be remote-only.

In parallel, Riot Games plans to give out number of capsule drops during the event. As usual, you can receive them by logging in to LoLEsports.com with your Riot ID. Without specifying the contents, it is announced that you can receive a capsule for each Pentakill, Baron Nashor steals, or any series that goes to five games during the knockout stage. On the day of the final, a specific emote title "I Am FUMING" will be awarded to you.

Riot Games is also introducing the return of the Global Power Rankings on March 2. These rankings were first unveiled at Worlds 2024 and have been recalibrated to reflect changes in league structures across the Americas and Pacific regions. While Split 1 will not be included in the scoring this time around, the rankings will provide daily updates during international events like First Stand, MSI, and Worlds, along with weekly updates during regional splits.

As a reminder, this will also be the first international event to be played with Fearless Draft, promising a great diversity of champions and showcasing the potential strategies that may emerge from each region. Rendez-vous on March 10 for the start of the event.
