17-year-old rookie gets his first shot at the LCS
In case you missed the news, Top laner Rayan "Sniper" Shoura is set to make his debut in the League Championship Series (LCS) with 100 Thieves, as reported by Anonimotum earlier this off-season. Additional sources have reconfirmed Sniper’s promotion to the LCS. Next year will mark the start of Sniper’s first year in the LCS as a rookie.
The Future of the LCS
Sniper has been on several teams' radar for a very long time. Achieving Challenger rank at just 12 years old and praised by the high elo community for his exceptional skills and climbing ability in solo queue, Sniper’s talent was evident early on. Being the younger brother of a former pro player and fellow challenger player, Omran "V1per" Shoura, Sniper had a helpful brother as well as the talent to achieve the dream of playing in the LCS.
His first showcase in a tournament-related league event was in Twitch Rivals, where he played for Tyler1's team and ended up winning the event, where he played against Yassuo's team in the tournament's grand final, beating his opponents in a 2 - 1 fashion.
As soon as Sniper became eligible to participate in the North American Amateur Circuit, he joined 100 Thieves Next, the team beneath 100 Thieves Academy. Here, he competed against other amateur talents, impressing many and even defeating some LCS academy teams. Sniper became known for his aggressive play-style and proficiency with high-damage champions.
Sniper has been part of 100 Thieves his whole career. Going through their whole development system from 100T Next to 100T Academy to now LCS 100 Thieves. A lot of eyes are on the young talent, as so far the rumored 100T roster is looking like a mix of young and veteran players.
