T1 subbed in Gumayusi for Game 3, but the move did not yield the desired result
The third day of the week in the LCK started with a big surprise as BNK FEARX managed to defeat T1, bringing both teams to a 3-3 record in the standings. Dplus KIA further buried the DN Freecs, who are still searching for their first win of the split. Meanwhile, DK moved up to join Hanwha Life Esports in second place with a 4-1 record, right behind Gen.G which didn't lose a game.
a major step forward for FEARX
The first game of the BO saw T1 secure a win, despite FEARX maintaining the lead for much of the match. T1's scaling, particularly the damage from Sin "Smash" Geum-jae's Ezreal and Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok's Azir, allowed them to close out the game after 35 minutes. However, in the second game, FEARX quickly regained the advantage and held onto it, with Kim "Kellin" Hyeong-gyu’s engages and Nam "Diable" Dae-geun’s damage proving too much for T1. The reigning world champions found themselves on the back foot, and the coaching staff decided to bring in Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong for the final game to turn the tide.
Despite the substitution, FEARX continued to dominate, particularly in the botlane where Jeon "Raptor" Eo-jin and Diable pressured T1 relentlessly. T1's efforts to recover were unsuccessful, and FEARX took full advantage of its lead, securing the victory. Kellin's excellent performance on Alistar earned him the MVP title for the game, cementing FEARX's impressive win over the world champions.
An alarming losing streak
For the fifth consecutive time this split, the DN Freecs lost again. The situation is alarming for the team, which is composed of players with a relatively good reputation, but who are struggling to find their rhythm. The combined score of the two games was 31-9. Both games were good snowballs by Dplus Kia, finishing no later than 30 minutes. Jeon "Siwoo" Si-woo even secured a pentakill in Game 2 on Rumble, and Choi "Lucid" Yong-hyeok's performance in both games earned him the title of MVP of the series. Dplus Kia dealt a heavy blow to the Freecs, who see their chances of making the playoffs diminishing with each loss.
Tomorrow, the undefeated LCK leaders, Gen.G, will face OKSavingsBank BRION, who come off two consecutive wins. The BO will start at 8 AM CET. Following that, the BO between Nongshim RedForce and Hanwha Life Esports will take place, with NS aiming to prove that they belong among the top teams in the LCK.
