Worlds 2019 champion and Worlds 2023 finalist joins TES
Top Esports begin their offseason. While the Chinese structure announced the departure of its support Tian “Meiko” Ye this Friday morning, TES already have a replacement in the shape of Liu “Crisp” Qing-Song. In addition to this new recruit, toplaner Bai “369” Jia-Hao has also renewed his contract with the team.
TES therefore welcome the FPX 2019 World Champion to their ranks. Since that title, however, Crisp's results have been frustrating, with many 2nd positions. Whether at the Mid Season Cup 2020, the two LPL Splits of 2021, the Worlds 2023, or the Summer 2024, Crisp has lost its share of finals. These results, which are still pretty decent, are his best in recent years.
2023 Worlds runner-up
In 2024, Crisp and Weibo Gaming finished 5th-6th in the Spring before finishing 2nd in the Summer after an impressive run in the playoffs, beating Ninjas in Pyjamas, LNG, and its future team, TES. They also qualified for the Worlds by beating and eliminating JD Gaming 3-2 at the Regional Finals. Once at the Worlds, WBG made it all the way to the semi-finals before losing 3-0 to Bilibili Gaming. Results that reflect the team's inconsistency over the year.
For their part, Top Esports are coming off a decent / mid season with a second-place finish during the Spring and a third-place finish during the Summer. However, their run at the two international tournaments proved to be disappointing: 5th-6th at MSI and 5th-8th at Worlds, where they were knocked out by the future world champions: T1.
In 2025, Crisp will be hoping to improve his results and return to winning ways with TES. To achieve this, he will be able to count on 369 and probably Lin “Creme” Jian and Yu “JackeyLove” Wen-Bo, who are both under contract until the end of 2025.
