CFO takes a real step toward securing a spot in the semifinals
CTBC Flying Oyster takes down Team Liquid in a clean 2-0 during their third game at First Stand. After defeating Karmine Corp in their opening match and suffering a heavy loss to Hanwha Life Esports yesterday, CFO bounces back with a dominant win over TL, thanks to a great performance from their mid-jungle duo, Yu "JunJia" Chun-chia and Tsai "HongQ" Ming-Hong. They now have a strong chance of making it to the semifinals this Saturday, March 15, at First Stand.
Game 1 was a complete stomp paired with a clear mid diff. The game lasted under 30 minutes, and the JunJia-HongQ duo didn’t die a single time. Jeong "Impact" Eon-young and Sean "Yeon" Sung tried to hold things together, but CFO was too far ahead, and TL’s draft didn’t help.
The second game was also decided in the draft. Despite TL picking Ziggs, Eain "APA" Stearns’ signature champion, it was Yeon who ended up playing it, while the American midlaner had to settle for Corki. TL sealed their fate when they all committed onto HongQ’s Yone, securing the kill but getting aced right after. CFO took Baron Nashor and easily closed out the game.
Now that they’ve beaten Karmine Corp and Team Liquid, CFO proves they’re not the team everyone had at the bottom of their tier lists (including us) and that the Pacific region is closer to Europe and NA than most would think.
