Out of those 26 series, Gen.G won 20 best-of-threes and 6 best-of-fives
With their grand final win over Anyone’s Legend at the Esports World Cup, Gen.G have tied the record for most consecutive best-of series victories, matching T1’s 2022 streak of 26 straight wins. Gen.G haven’t lost a single series since the LCK Cup final against Hanwha Life Esports back on February 23. What makes this streak even more impressive is that all 26 wins came in multi-game series—20 best-of-threes and six best-of-fives—with not a single BO1 included.
This is arguably one of the greatest rosters League of Legends has ever seen. Their synergy is unmatched, their execution near-flawless, and they remain perched at the top of the food chain with threats coming from every lane—and even the jungle. Kim "Kiin" Gi-in is a rock in the toplane, consistently delivering whether he’s on a weak-side tank or a strong-side carry. In the jungle, Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu is playing in the strongest roster of his career. His clutch smites in high-pressure moments are countless, and he’s more than capable of stepping up as a carry himself.
In the midlane, Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon is, quite simply, the best player in the world right now. With back-to-back MSI titles under his belt, only Worlds remains missing from his trophy cabinet. The botlane was the only question mark at the start of the year—many raised eyebrows when Gen.G moved on from Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan and Son "Lehends" Si-woo. But Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk and Joo "Duro" Min-kyu have silenced all doubts. Since the start of the LCK Round 1-2, the duo has adapted perfectly and has consistently outclassed their opponents, often carrying their team to victory.
A five-month undefeated run
Their streak made even more impressive by how dominant they’ve been. During the LCK Round 1-2, they dropped only five Nexus in total, against T1, BNK FearX, HLE, KT Rolster, and Dplus KIA. Every other series ended in a clean 2-0 sweep.
At the Road to MSI, Gen.G came dangerously close to falling once again to HLE, but managed to pull off a reverse sweep in a tense series that tested their resilience. At MSI, after a 3-1 win over G2 Esports in the first round, they went on to win three straight 3-2 thrillers—twice against T1 and once against Anyone’s Legend—to lift the trophy.

It's worth noting that Gen.G’s 26-series win streak includes the EWC, which is not part of the official Riot Games circuit—comprised of the regional leagues, the First Stand, MSI, and Worlds later in the year. However, when counting all competitions, their record stands at 26 consecutive best-of wins, with their three victories in Riyadh over FlyQuest, G2, and AG.AL in the final completing the run.
The big question now is whether Gen.G can break the record after tying it. We'll find out on July 23, when they play their first series of LCK Round 3-5—and what better opponent for a potential 27th win than Hanwha Life Esports, the last team to defeat them.
