Ale, Xun, Scout, Peyz and MISSING will play for JDG in 2025
After a disappointing year where JD Gaming had set sky-high expectations following their dominance of the LPL in 2023, the organization has decided to start fresh. Retaining only their support, Lou “MISSING” Yunfeng, they have brought in four outstanding recruits. This revamped roster combines raw talent—highlighted by the arrivals of Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan in the botlane and Peng "Xun" Li-Xun in the jungle—with seasoned experience, with Lee "Scout" Ye-chan taking over the midlane and Hu "Ale" Jia-Le anchoring the toplane.
Full rebuild, same ambition
Although the lineup has been almost completely revamped, JD Gaming once again shows lofty ambitions. Following a disappointing year—finishing 3rd in the Spring Split and 7th in the Summer—they also fell short in the Regional Finals against Weibo Gaming, missing out on all international events this year. In response, they decided to entirely rebuild their roster. Notably, their star carry Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk, has returned to Gen.G in the LCK, opening the door for JDG to acquire Gen.G’s ADC, Peyz. The young talent, who at just 18 years old won an MSI championship title, had an outstanding year with Gen.G and now joins JDG with high expectations.
Peyz embraced this project convinced that the newly built roster has the potential to dominate the league. The mid/jungle duo in particular looks set to be explosive. On one hand, there is Scout, the 2021 World Champion and a seasoned veteran coming off a stellar year with LNG, where he established himself as one of the most consistent midlaners in the league with an extremely high clutch factor. On the other, there is Xun, a jungler who reached new heights with BLG this year, earning two LPL titles and finishing as a runner-up at both the MSI and Worlds. With these two developing synergy, fans can look forward to some dazzling, high-level gameplay. Scout also brings excellent leadership to the team, while Xun’s energy will help foster cohesion among teammates.
Joining them is Ale, a veteran entering his 7th year in the LPL. Coming off a respectable season with Anyone’s Legend, Ale is a versatile player capable of hard-carrying games when put in the spotlight. His aim is clear: to elevate JDG to the top of the standings and secure a long-awaited return to the Worlds stage, a feat he only achieved once in 2021 with LNG.
