Top 2 teams move to Group Ascend, last place goes to Group Nirvana, and 3rd place teams play a promotion series for 2 spots in Ascend
The 2025 LPL Split 2 Group Stage will start on March 22. It will open with teams divided into four groups, playing a single round-robin. The top two from each group move to Group Ascend, while 4th place heads to Nirvana, and 3rd place teams battle for spots in Ascend.
The top four from Ascend qualify for playoffs, while the bottom six from Ascend and the top two from Nirvana enter the Knights Rival. Four winning teams move on to classic playoffs, with the final determining the LPL champion and MSI representatives on June 14.
Top Esports secured the LPL Split 1 championship after an intense lower bracket run, earning the right to represent China at the First Stand. The format for Split 2 is particularly unforgiving, as the bottom two teams from Group Nirvana won’t just be eliminated from the split—they’ll also be barred from competing in Split 3, effectively ending their 2025 season as early as May.
