FlyQuest and LYON ended up on top today, both in bloody 2-0 victories.
Heading into the final day of matches before eliminations start in LTA North, the pressure was on. The matches today ended quickly, maybe even more than some had expected. The stakes were high, but the action today was even higher. FlyQuest pulled through today in a dominant fashion, while LYON pulled off the victory that so many had been hoping for.
Game 1:
In a calculated four-man dive botside, FlyQuest picked up three kills under Dignitas’ turret. Kacper "Inspired" Słoma cleaned up all three Void Grubs, while Jade "Sheiden" Libut set up a solid play that let Kim "Keine" Joon-cheol put DIG on the board. Gabriël "Bwipo" Rau locked down First Turret, securing the Feats of Strength. A small skirmish broke out at Hextech Drake, but Dignitas walked away with two deaths and only one kill to show for it. The teams traded across the map, but FlyQuest came out ahead nearly every time.
Dignitas was able to claim their first Drake of the game but got aced for it. With nearly a 9k gold lead, FlyQuest was able to secure the Baron with just Bwipo, Inspired, and Song "Quad" Soo-hyung in the pit. With a strong push as five down botside, FlyQuest won the game 19-6.
Game 2:
Inspired invaded Dignitas’ jungle early, but no kills dropped. A close 1v1 mid between Quad and Kim "Keine" Joon-cheol almost went DIG’s way, but a bold flash auto secured First Blood for FlyQuest. FlyQuest secured first Drake once again, but Sheiden took down the first two Void Grubs before a fight broke out. The trades continued with Inspired taking the Hextech Drake as Sheiden killed Rift Herald. The first of the Infernal Drakes went to FlyQuest, and the fighting did not stop. Inspired claimed Infernal Soul and FlyQuest picked up three kills immediately after.
Dignitas fought back in the topside river, taking two kills for themselves as Baron spawned. After everyone respawned and Atakhan was ready, FlyQuest ambushed Jett "Srtty" Joye in DIG’s jungle. Both Atakhan and Baron went over to the team in green, cementing their lead. A massive fight in Dignitas’ botside jungle proved lethal. FlyQuest pushed their way into DIG’s Nexus, claiming victory and putting them at the top of their group.
Result: FlyQuest wins 2-0.
Game 1:
Another early invade kicked off the second match of the day, with Lawrence "Exyu" Xu stealing a few raptors while Sebastián "Oddielan" Alonso Niño Zavaleta pathed through his jungle. A flash ult from Kang "Saint" Seong-in earned LYON First Blood. Void Grubs were split, with Disguised only grabbing one. DSG picked up their first kill in a four-man topside fight. Oddielan locked down the Hextech Drake, and LYON took the Feat of Monster Slaying. DSG grabbed the first turret, tying the score 1-1.
At Drake Pit, a big skirmish broke out. Disguised claimed their first Dragon and the Feat of Warfare, only losing one in the process. DSG took down Atakhan, but Saint got a solo kill botside. Park "Hena" Jeung-hwan picked up a double as LYON secured Mountain Drake, putting them on Soul Point. Disguised started Baron with a 4v5, lost the fight, and gave over Baron. LYON pushed botside and closed out the game.
Game 2:
Disguised opened with a two-man dive for First Blood. Cho "Castle" Hyeon-seong solo killed topside, while Oddielan took first Dragon. Hena and Oddielan teamed up for a kill to put LYON on the board. Choi "huhi" Jae-hyun and Castle worked botside to grab the Feat of Warfare, and Disguised followed up with an Ocean Drake. The trades kept coming, mostly topside. DSG tried to push mid, but LYON punished them hard, picking up four kills.
Fights kept breaking out around the topside river. Disguised lost four at Baron, and LYON immediately pushed mid turret. On respawn, DSG tried to contest Baron again but got aced. LYON walked away with the buff and four of their players pushed bot as Eric "Licorice" Ritchie solo killed Castle topside. In a bold play, two LYON members teleported to DSG’s Nexus but couldn’t close. One last teamfight at Baron Pit ended in another ace, and LYON finally shut the door.
Result: LYON wins 2-0.
