Srtty is still looking to play competitive League of Legends after Split 3
After competing in both Split 1 and 2 of the LTA North, Jett Michael "Srtty" Joye, toplaner of Dignitas, has officially announced that he will no longer be part of the roster for Split 3. The American-Australian player explained his decision in a video published on the team’s official X account, offering insight into his reasoning and what lies ahead in his career.
First of all, the decision seems to have been made by the player himself. Srtty felt that there was no room for him in the team as his vision of the game was too different from that of the coaching staff. “There wasn’t really a place for me to be who I wanted to be inside of this roster. The style of League that I wanted to play wasn’t cohesive with the way our coaching staff saw the game,” he explained.
Srtty also emphasized how important it is for rookies to remain true to the identity and principles that shaped them as players: “Coming in as a rookie, it’s really important that you stay strong to your convictions and remember what made you good. You need to rely on that because that’s what made you who you are.” However, he strayed from this approach. “I tried to learn the game in a new way and fit into a different identity, but at the end of the day, that wasn’t me. And I think I should have trusted myself more than trying to fit into the ideas of other people,” he admitted.
The player also highlights other issues when talking about the team's environment. “The environment on DIG, and not necessarily because of the management, but just in general, was terrible the entire year.” While Srtty made it clear that he had no personal issues with his teammates or the coaching staff, he mentioned the lack of progress. “We had very little direction. We weren’t improving in many aspects of our game,” he expressed.
Rank 1 into pro again?
Despite stepping away from pro play — for now — Srtty emphasized that he still loves the game and that he is still open to competing. “I’m still open to opportunities and playing professionally in the future,” he clarified. In fact, he revealed that he had been in contact with three different teams: one from LTA North, one from North American Challengers League (NACL), and one from LTA South. However, talks with the LTA North team didn’t come through, and he didn’t want to relocate to LTA South for just one split.
With no ideal offers on the table, Srtty will be transitioning to a Content Creator role within Dignitas. He aims to reconnect with his community by streaming his Solo Queue grind with the goal of reaching Rank 1 again. The toplaner will also create other content for Dignitas and will co-stream the LTA North and the organization's matches throughout Split 3.
