"This isn't a goodbye, it's a see you later 💚" - Shopify Rebellion
Jason “WildTurtle” Tran—former coach for LTA North’s Shopify Rebellion—is officially retired from professional League of Legends. The announcement came out in a heartfelt video on Shopify Rebellion’s X page on March 12, 2025, marking the end of an era for the long-loved player.
Spanning over 13 years, WildTurtle’s career has led him to becoming a key figure in some of the most notable North American League of Legends scene, including Team SoloMid (TSM), Immortals, FlyQuest, Counter Logic Gaming (CLG), and Shopify Rebellion. His presence has been notable on the Rift and behind the mic, where he became known for his passion and energy for the game.
Comments on the retirement post by the official LTA North account, FlyQuest, and fans alike celebrated his historic career and upbeat demeanor through the years.
In the announcement, WildTurtle shared his emotions about retiring from competitive play—a mix of bittersweet nostalgia and relief. Looking back at his journey, he brought up some of his earliest Attack Damage Carry picks, like Corki, Graves, and Ezreal—the champions that attracted him to the role, despite most people playing them in middle lane at the time. He recalled the first time he took the stage with TSM as a substitute, stating he never imagined that his debut game, even with that iconic pentakill, could suddenly turn into a full-blown professional career.
Above all else, WildTurtle expressed gratitude and appreciation for everyone he has met and everything he has experienced during his time in the scene. As he closes this chapter of his life, he is very enthusiastic about spending more time with his friends and family, along with getting a much-needed break from League of Legends.
WildTurtle’s retirement is here to mark the end of a momentous chapter for the North American League of Legends scene, but his legacy is far from ending. In years to come, his passion and energy will remain an inspiration for longtime fans of the North American competitive scene and many aspiring professional players.
