Former Dignitas coaching staff reunites in LFL
For their first season in the LFL, Ici Japon Corp are placing their trust in a seasoned coaching duo. According to Sheep Esports sources, the club has reached a verbal agreement with Ilias “Enatron” Theodorou as Head Coach and Arda “Invokid” Başaran as Assistant Coach. Adrien “GotoOne” Picard was the club's first choice for the Head Coach position according to our information, but the former BDS coach eventually joined Gentle Mates, as previously reported by Sheep Esports.
Geekay Esports coach Edward “Edward” Abgaryan was also considered by the club. IJC has yet to decide on the future of Head Coach Adrien “Hellombre” Lompre and Assistant Coach Alan “Karot” Trochel in 2023, while the structure is currently exploring its options for additional staff.
Enatron and Invokid previously worked together at Dignitas in 2023, where Invokid served as Positional Coach. However, their time there yielded underwhelming results, with Dignitas finishing 10th in the LCS NA Spring Split and 5th in the Summer Split. Before his stint in North America, Enatron held a Head Coach role in the LEC during the 2021 Spring Split with Misfits Gaming, where he coached notable players like Ivan “Razork” Martin and Vincent “Vetheo” Berrié.
Despite a promising roster, the team finished 7th, leading to Enatron's departure. Most of Enatron's notable success came in the TCL (Turkey). He led Royal Youth to the TCL Summer 2019 title, earning a spot at the 2019 Worlds play-in stage. There, the scene was introduced to future big players like İrfan “Armut” Tükek and Can “Closer” Çelik, who later advanced to major leagues.
In TDS footsteps
Even in 2018, Enatron nearly clinched a TCL title — and a Worlds qualification — with Royal Bandits (later Royal Youth), reaching the Summer Split finals. That roster also featured future standouts like Sergen “BrokenBlade” Çelik and Felix “Abbedagge” Braun. After the end of his tenure at Dignitas in Spring 2024, Enatron returned to the TCL with FUT Esports but didn't replicate his past success, finishing 4th in the Turkish championship in the Summer of 2024.
For his part, Invokid joined Team du Sud in 2024 as Strategic Coach. The Turkish coach is therefore already familiar with the LFL, despite a challenging first year with the Blue Wave. Promoted after an exceptional 2023 in Div2, TDS finished 9th in both 2024 splits in France's premier division. IJC, following in TDS’s footsteps after winning both splits in the second division and securing promotion through the Up&Down, will be hoping to carve a different path next year.
