After three years with Nongshim RedForce, FIESTA joins Supermassive in the TCL
An "FIESTA" Hyeon-seo has reached a verbal agreement with Papara Supermassive in TCL (Turkey), according to sources at Sheep Esports. As first revealed by our colleagues at Flank Esports, the midlaner will indeed be joining the Turkish champions this summer, replacing Ersin "Blue" Gören for the summer split. Despite its local title, this is the third change made by the structure during this offseason. Ad carry William "UNF0RGIVEN’"Nieminen and support Mustafa "Carry" Selim Yılmaz will also play for Papara Supermassive in the summer, as previously reported by Sheep Esports.
And with good reason: while the team had dominated its league - but still needed to reverse sweep Besiktas Esports in the TCL final - it had collapsed in the group stage of the EMEA Masters. With SUP tipped to be one of the contenders for the crown, they were just able to get a single win (1-5) in Group C. A humiliation for the TCL seed 1, who aspired to be one of the best ERLs.
Over the course of the offseason, Supermassive also considered Midlaners Jeong "Mireu" Jo-bin and Jérémy "Eika" Valdenaire but have settled for Fiesta in the end.
Hard transition to LCK
FIESTA, who was also considered by BJK, arrives with a revamped and ambitious team. The aim is not simply to remain on the throne of the TCL, but to sit at the table with the big teams in Europe. The midlaner has just completed three years with Nongshim Redforce. After two seasons in the LCK CL (South Korea's second division) and a title in the summer of 2022, FIESTA was promoted to the first team in 2023.
His team failed to shine against the top teams in the LCK, and FIESTA even finished last in the spring split and penultimate in the summer segment. He returned to the NS academy and, despite a tricky regular season in the spring, managed to finish third in the play-offs.
