Raqo won NACL 2024 Spring Split with FlyQuest NXZT
Max "Raqo" Temminck is set to make his return to the European Regional Leagues (ERL) after reportedly reaching a verbal agreement with Movistar KOI in the Superliga (LVP), according to Sheep Esports sources. He has received interest from LFL teams, including Vitality Academy and Gentle Mates. The Dutch coach, and former midlaner, previously served as Head Coach for SK Gaming in the Prime League from 2020 to 2022 before spending the last two years with FlyQuest Academy in the North American Challengers League (NACL). In 2023, he was promoted to Assistant Coach and, in 2024, took over as Head Coach of FlyQuest NZXT, leading the team to the NACL Spring Split title.
Following a third-place finish in the Summer Split of North America's second-tier competition, Raqo returned to Europe. Since September, he has been competing in the Aurora Cup as a midlaner for Ruddy Esports. His team qualified for the playoffs in this tournament, which features eight NLC teams, five national league squads, and three Wildcard teams.
A Year of Transition for Movistar KOI
At Movistar KOI, Raqo takes over a team that struggled to meet expectations in 2024. The first year of the Movistar Riders' partnership with KOI saw the team finish sixth in the Spring Split and fifth in the Summer Split. Pedro "Marky" Serrano was the only player from Movistar Riders’ stellar 2023 lineup to stay on after that impressive year when the team won both LVP splits and reached the EMEA Masters Summer final. Three of his teammates were promoted to the main LEC team, while Ismaïl "Isma" Boualem moved to SK Gaming.
As a result, Movistar KOI underwent a major rebuild in 2024. Despite bringing in two veteran players from Case Esports' disbanded roster—Magnus "Maxi" Kristensen in the jungle and Rúben "rhuckz" Barbosa in support for the Summer Split—the team failed to find a winning formula. Now, Raqo is tasked with guiding the Spanish team to a stronger showing and setting a new direction for the organization.
