Former NRG support IgnaR has been sold to Excel in the LEC
Support Choi "huhi" Jae-hyun has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with NRG in the LCS, according to sources from Sheep Esports. This move comes following the transfer of Support Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun to Excel Esports in the LEC.
This support change may come as a surprise to some fans. Given NRG's strong performance in the previous year, many were hoping for the roster to compete together again. Indeed, the organization managed to qualify for the quarterfinals of the 2023 World Championship, an achievement unmatched by any other team from the LEC or LCS this year. Especially considering the fact that NRG had many doubters about their domestic succes at first.
Sources also indicate that NRG has explored the possibility of selling other players on the market. However, this scenario currently appears unlikely. Rumors suggest that NRG has considered roster changes due to the high expenses associated with it. Selling a contract to another organization could be economically beneficial in this situation.
huhi will be joining NRG after a strong year with Golden Guardians as well as two international appearences. huhi could be looking to reunite with AD Carry Ian Victor "FBI" Huang, both played together for 100 Thieves during two full years.
