Los Heretics closes the first piece of its new Superliga project
According to sources, Eric ‘Independent’ Ruiz Bogurina has reached a verbal agreement with Los Heretics and will be the Head Coach of the Madrid-based team next year in the Superliga.
Independent has been the Head Coach of Ramboot Club for the last two years, having been with the team in both the second and first division. Ramboot has been one of the surprises of the season. The Valencian club started the league with zero expectations and managed to give more than one scare to the teams contending for the title — not to mention finishing third in the summer playoffs and qualifying for the EMEA Masters.
The club's performance has attracted the attention of several teams for the players and the coach, making Independent one of the most sought-after coaches from Superliga clubs this off-season. Independent would have had interest from other major Superliga teams such as Movistar KOI, and even from LEC teams — in the position of Assistant Coach. However, these other organizations never made a concrete offer due to the Spanish coach's desire to join the Heretics organisation over just about anyone.
The Heretics are in the process of rebuilding with the departure of André ‘Guilhoto’ Pereira Guilhoto and they are already securing a new piece in search of a quintet that will allow them to reclaim their Superliga title and aspire towards the EMEA Masters championship once again.
