The 19 year old Czech rookie enters the stage
Mid Laner Adam "Jackies" Jeřábek has just reached a verbal agreement with Excel Esports to participate in the LoL EMEA Championship (LEC), according to Sheep Esports sources. Against all odds, the Czech rookie has managed to land himself a position in the biggest league the EMEA region has to offer. Following strong performances in the Hitpoint Masters, Jackies now enters the league and may very well eventually become the next Humanoid.
An unknown ERL talent
Going into this off-season, several high profile mid laners and talents have been in contention to move up the ladder and prove themselves on the big stage. Despite this, Jackies, a relatively unknown quantity from the Hitpoint Masters, has managed to secure a spot in the British organization Excel Esports. Seen by the team's coaches as a player with immense potential, the Czech mid laner has managed to land a spot ahead of several star players.
Having recently completed a sweep of his regional league, Jackies earned himself 3 back-to-back titles with Entropiq in which he competed along with ex-LEC support Petr "denyk" Haramach. Through his raw talent, the Czech rookie has received numerous offers from LFL teams prior to receiving his first LEC offer.
Having hit upwards of 1378 LP on the ladder, the question remains: Will Jackies be able to translate his ERL success into a strong performance in the LEC?
At only 19 years old, Jackies is one of the youngest and most unexpected rookies to reach the big leagues. He will now have to prove himself in what could pan out to be a very interesting roster.
While Jackies' acquisition may not have been expected, readers should not underestimate the young rookie. The player was put against several big names of the scene before being locked in. Some of the players XL inquired about were: Luka "Perkz" Perković, Emil "Larssen" Larsson, Adam "LIDER" Ilyasov, and Felix "Abbedagge" Braun.
