With these moves, Gentle Mates has rounded out its offseason
Gentle Mates have reached verbal agreements to re-sign Thomas "kAdavra" Johner to their roster and pick up Juan "McJuankar" Mesa as an Assistant Coach ahead of the VCT EMEA 2025 season, according to Sheep Esports sources. kAdavra will be the fifth player on the team — Sheep Esports has previously reported Gentle Mates' intention to sign Patrik "Minny" Hušek, Haydem "Click" Ali, Pontus “Zyppan” Eek, and Robbie “RobbieBk” Boerkamp.
Until this offseason, Gentle Mates — a French organization — had only signed French players, and kAdavra was no exception. After playing in the French VCL for two splits, he was pulled up for his Tier 1 debut with Gentle Mates for VCT's Stage 2, but only managed a dismal ninth-place finish with the team. Still, he's set to be the only player retained from M8's 2024 roster.
McJuankar also made his VCT debut this year with BBL Esports, joining the team as a coach ahead of 2024's VCT Stage 1. BBL, however, found little success, performing at or slightly above M8's level all year. As M8 rebuild in the offseason, the team is hoping to use their new pieces to defy expectations and make deep runs into the playoffs brackets.
As M8 finalize their VCT roster, Sheep Esports will continue to report on their offseason. To keep up with the offseason at large, check out the Sheep Esports Transfers Hub for more reporting about final roster decisions.
