Cinkrof was also considered for the position
Jungler Enes "Rhilech" Uçan has reached a verbal agreement with BK ROG Esports, sources told Sheep Esports on Thursday. The French team is buying out the Turkish Jungler from DSYRE in the League of Legends Italian Tournament.
Rhilech in the offseason
Despite 2024 being Rhilech's first year in ERLs, the 18-year-old jungler impressed many teams this offseason. By winning the Italian league and qualifying for the EMEA Masters, many noticed the player's potential. Notably, Karmine Corp considered the player for the jungler position, but many other teams around Europe were interested.
In the end, Karmine Corp decided to acquire Jungler Doğukan "113" Balcı from BK ROG Esports. As 113 was interested in joining KCB, BK ROG's jungle spot was left open for Rhilech to join the team. However, BK ROG's choice to sell 113 did not impact Rhilech chances at Karmine Corp Blue. Indeed, the Turkish jungler wasn't an option for the team anymore at that time.
Aiming for the top
BK ROG Esports had high expectations this year after rebuilding around Toplaner Jeon "Howling" Ho-bin and Midlaner Paweł "Czekolad" Szczepanik. They were the only team keeping more than one player last offseason. Their results were somewhat delivered at first as the team placed first halfway through the split. However, the team suffered a losing streak at the end of the season, leading them to finish third. In the playoffs, BK ROG couldn't overcome their recent losses and finished in fifth place after a 1-3 loss versus Gentle Mates.
Bringing in a rookie instead of 113 for a team aiming to win the LFL can be a risky bet. However, it also proves the faith that they have in the young jungler following some tryouts. It remains to be seen if the arrival of Rhilech instead of 113 will give BK ROG this needed redynamisation to get back to winning.
