After being among the founding staff of TH for their LEC project, Araneae will not continue with the spanish team as a sport manager
Alvar "Araneae" Martín Aleñar won't be Team Heretics' League Sport Manager for the next season as revealed by Al Lío Podcast and confirmed by sources of Sheep Esports. Manager since the organization's arrival in the LEC in the 2022 offseason, his time will come to an end after two years.
Two years of mixed results
Team Heretics arrived in the LEC in 2023 without any high expectations, they indeed fielded a team of rookies - including ERL star Jakob "Jackspektra" Gullvag Kepple - with jungler Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski set to lead the team as the experienced player of the roster. After two difficult splits (finishing 8th and 9th in overall placement), TH bounced back in the Summer, finishing 4th after two roster changes : the arrival of Vincent "Vetheo" Berrié as well as Víctor "Flakked" Lirola Tortosa, Araneae's former adc in MAD Lions Madrid in 2021.
2024 saw some improvement in TH's results with their placement being in the 6th and 7th places. Despite these results, Heretics initially brought in Martin "Wunder" Nordahl Hansen and Luka "Perkz" Perković. These recruitments were surprising at first, as they shifted TH from a rookie project to a very experienced one in a single offseason, and with Artur "Zwyroo" Trojan taking the place of Perkz as soon as the Spring Split (alongside a support change), it was a clear failure.
As previously reported by Sheep esports sources, Wunder, Jankos, Zwyroo and Trymbi were allowed to look for options, with this in mind and Heretics' need for a new director, this means that TH are already very active in the transfer market and possibly aiming for a deep rebuild for 2025.
