The second inductee will be known in May
Riot Games announced in their Season 2 Dev Update that the Hall of Legends is about to welcome a second player. Without revealing any hints about the player’s identity or nationality, they stated that it’s someone who “has made his mark on League. He has inspired the next generation of upcoming players.” While there’s no exact date yet, the wait won’t be too long, as more information is expected to be revealed by May.
Who will be inducted after Faker?
Launched in 2024, the Hall of Legends is a Riot Games initiative that aims to put a spotlight on the careers of some of the greatest names in League of Legends esports history. Naturally, it was Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok who was the first to be inducted in the spring of 2024. He holds by far the most impressive track record on the scene and serves as an inspiration to every serious LoL player, carrying the game’s legacy to an entirely new level. He alone embodies self-improvement, the dedication of a true champion, and stands as a symbol of discipline and consistency.
At the time, the celebration took place in-game, featuring skins specifically designed for the occasion, as well as a unique battle pass packed with rewards available for several weeks, highlighting memorable moments from Faker’s career. There was also a ceremony held in South Korea, where he was awarded a trophy in front of a crowd of journalists and special guests, including his fellow World Champion teammates Choi "Zeus" Woo-je, Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun, Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong, and Ryu "Keria" Min-seok.

Given this, speculation is running wild among fans. Faker is an anomaly, but Halls of Fame like this one are traditionally used to honor no longer active players. Moreover, since he is a Korean player, the most intriguing rumors suggest that the chances of seeing a player from another nationality being inducted are increasing. Considering the Worlds track record of different regions, there's a strong possibility that China will be honored, especially since many people already expected Jian "Uzi" Zihao to be recognized someday.
Adding even more fuel to the fire, this year’s Worlds will take place in China, with events in Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu. In Europe, names like Martin "Rekkles" Larsson and Rasmus "Caps" Winther come to mind—both still active—while others are pointing to Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg as a potential pick for North America. As for an answer, we’ll have to wait another month for Riot Games to reveal more about which player will be inducted.
