Jandro and AoD have been working together since LEC Summer 2023
Barça eSports have opted for continuity. Following the re-signing of Matti “WhiteKnight” Sormunen, Francisco “Thayger” Mazo, and AD Carry Sergio “Legolas” Vicente Gispert, the Spanish team will also retain its key coaching staff members, according to Sheep Esports sources. Head Coach Alejandro “Jandro” Fernández-Valdés Pedrosa and Positional Coach Alin-Ciprian “AoD” Baltat will continue to lead the squad in the upcoming Superliga (LVP) season.
Summer rebirth
The duo initially joined the organization for the 2024 season, having previously worked together at Astralis in the LEC during the Summer of 2023. At that time, their roles were reversed, with AoD serving as Head Coach and Jandro as his assistant. During 2024, the two coaches led Barça through contrasting splits in the Spanish League of Legends championship. After finishing second-to-last in the Spring Split, the team made two roster adjustments ahead of Summer, bringing in jungler Francisco “Thayger” Mazo and support Víctor “Oscure” Guzmán Fernández.
Barça turned their fortunes around, securing first place in the regular season before narrowly missing the championship in the playoff final against Team Heretics. Jandro and AoD then guided their players to the playoffs of the Summer EMEA Masters, qualifying on the wire in the Swiss Stage (4-3). However, the team faced a tough defeat in the first round against eventual finalists, Vitality.Bee. By retaining this core lineup for the coming season, Barça aim to build on their established synergy to continue their upward trajectory.
