Gen.G closed out the second game with a dominant 19-0 scoreline
Gen.G remains unstoppable in LCK Round 1-2, with eight wins from eight matches. This morning, they defeated DRX 2-0 in under an hour, with a combined scoreline of 22-3 — DRX didn’t manage a single kill in the second game. Earlier in the day, BNK FEARX took down DN Freecs 2-1 in a closely contested series. The Freecs are now 0-8 and have yet to win a single match this split. It has been over three months since their last victory, and a playoff appearance is looking increasingly unlikely.
A promising split for FEARX
FEARX are currently sitting at 4-4 in the split, a sharp contrast to their performance during the LCK Cup where they lost every single game. Today, they faced the struggling Freecs, who still can't seem to find their footing. In the first game, FEARX came close to closing it out with a backdoor attempt from Song "Clear" Hyeon-min, but the Nexus turret respawn denied him. Shortly after, a brilliant teamfight led by new midlaner Lee "Pungyeon" Jong-hyuk on Taliyah turned the game around, allowing the Freecs to snatch the win despite being over 7,700 gold behind.
Game 2 and 3 were heavily dominated by FEARX, largely thanks to Clear, who was awarded Player of the Game, and Jeon "Raptor" Eo-jin. The top-jungle duo put together two strong performances on Renekton-Lillia and Jax-Pantheon, with Clear going deathless in both games. Their impact allowed FEARX to close out the series and move up to sixth place in the standings.
Chovy hasn't died in his last seven games
Gen.G remains unstoppable. Again today against DRX, neither game lasted more than 30 minutes. Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon continues his incredible streak, staying deathless over his last seven games, currently sitting at a combined 43/0/64. Both matches were complete stomps from Gen.G, with Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu completely taking over the jungle on Naafiri and Nidalee. The botlane also dominated, with Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk topping the damage charts in both games and remaining deathless throughout the series. Gen.G are now firmly in first place in LCK Round 1-2.
Tomorrow, T1 will face OKSavingsBank Brion as they look to catch up to Nongshim RedForce in the standings, while at the top of the table, Dplus KIA will take on Hanwha Life Esports in a battle for second place.
